IBM PC/XT COLOR ISSUE?

I have a IBM PC/XT 5160 with a IBM CGA Card and a IBM CGA 5153 Monitor running DOS 3.3. When I boot to Windows 1.01 and certain games, it comes up in black and white. I've set it up when I installed it to run in color, but only certain programs use the color. And programs I know that use the color will only use B&W. Is there something I'm missing or haven't done? Please help!
