My cat is in Kidney Failure & lately has been scooting on my carpet. Are these 2 things related?

Not sure. But my cat once was scooting and left a streak of poop about 8 feet long on the lightest carpet of the house! Yuck! I took her to the vet and her glands were full and had to be squeezed. She's never had that problem again thank goodness. Hope this helps.
