Sims 2 nintendo ds help quick!!!!?

okay so the alien want me to break into the penthouse to get some blueprint thing, and i saved there and when i came back on the concierge said something about alfred sneaking out his room to recharge his batteries and when ever i move i sink into the floor into this black place and all i can see is my character ....how do i get out!
